Tenn. woman with meningitis sues pharmacy

(WMC-TV) – Action News 5 has kept you updated on all things meningitis related. Well, we have another update for you this morning.

A Middle Tennessee woman, sickened by the Meningitis outbreak, is suing the pharmacy that supplied the contaminated drug.

Janet Russell and her husband filed suit against the New England compounding company for $15 million claiming the pharmacy allowed the steroid to be contaminated by fungi through negligence.

So far, the infection has sickened 212 people in 15 states. In total, 15 people have died, and six of them were residents of Tennessee.
