(WMC-TV) – Two teenagers are under arrest in connection to the ATM robbery that led to the death of the victim. And today, they are set to face a judge.

The crimes happened at the Orion Credit Union ATM on South Perkins Road on October 9.

According to police, the two men approached the victim, 44-year-old Roneccia Luster, as she was using the ATM. She tried to drive away when one of the suspects stuck a gun inside her rolled down window. She was shot as she tried to get away.

She crashed her car into a utility pole a short distance later. Luster was taken to The MED where she later died as a result of her injuries.

Not far from where the robbery happened, police say the two suspects jumped into a convertible being driven by another man. The robbery suspects demanded he turn over his vehicle to them. The man was shot, but was able to escape.

"It is frightening. It basically shows you they were capable of anything," said Memphis Police Department Director Toney Armstrong.

Investigators released surveillance photos of one of the suspects. They determined one of the men to be 19-year-old James Holmes.

Holmes was arrested and confessed to both of the shootings.

Investigators were able to lift fingerprints from the convertible the two men carjacked after the robbery attempt. Bishardo Higgs, 19, was later arrested.

Holmes is charged with first degree murder in the perpetration of a felony, carjacking, and employment of a firearm.

Higgs is charged with especially aggravated robbery.

Both teenagers have arrest records.

As recently as one month ago, they were arrested on trespassing charges after they were caught loitering together in an apartment complex where police say they did not belong.
