(WMC-TV) – Two teenagers faced a judge for the second day court Thursday. They were arrested in connection to a carjacking and the ATM robbery that led to the death of the victim.

According to police, James Holmes and Bishardo Higgs are the two men who approached the victim, 44-year-old Roneccia Luster, as she was using the ATM.

She tried to drive away when one of the suspects stuck a gun inside her rolled down window. She was shot as she tried to get away.

Holmes appeared in court by a video, while Higgs appeared in person.

During Brishardo Higgs' arraignment, the judge had him transferred from the video arraignment area to open court.

Higgs' mother wept when the judge set bond at $500,000.

According to investigators, immediately after Holmes shot Luster, the two tried to carjack a man driving a convertible in the same area.

When the driver refused to give up his car, he was shot twice.

Investigators said Holmes admitted to his role and told police he had an accomplice.

Fingerprints left behind in the Corvette led them to Higgs.

In court, Higgs' relatives claimed that he was not even in the area when the crimes happened.

They declined to be interviewed on camera.

Both men go back to court Nov. 1.
