(WMC-TV) – As investigators search for the two men who murdered Wanda Miller's son, she and her grieving family are hoping that justice will soon be served.
"I know I'm hurt. I'm hurting. That's all I know," said Wanda Miller.
The shooting death of Wanda Miller's son, 33-year-old Denny Miller, has been unbearable.
"Taking a man's life isn't going to solve anything," said Miller.
The crime happened around 3:30 Saturday afternoon at this home in the 11 hundred block of Marlin.
According to investigators two men forced their way into the home.
Denny Miller and his uncle fought with the suspects.
One of the suspects fired shots striking Miller.
We're told Miller ran to a home down the street where he collapsed.
Officers found him lying in the yard.
"Denny didn't hang out with nobody. He was a loner. He was a nice looking man. He kept himself clean and dressed every day," said Wanda Miller.
"When you kill someone's child, whether it be male or female, you hurt the family. The family hasn't done anything to you. Go to the law when these people do things to you and if you're a gang banger, the law needs to get you. Now that makes me angry," said Gloria Johnson, Denny Miller's grandmother.
And now the grieving family is left wondering who could have committed the crime and why.
"I don't want to do nothing to the two men that did or nothing. I want the system and God to take care of them," said Miller.
