(WMC-TV) - Two suspects fleeing from police in a stolen car crashed into a light pole Tuesday.
"Heard a loud thud, and then a screeching, just in time to see a car hit that light pole," said witness Adam Higham, who saw the crash from his office window.
That is where this police chase ended, but the victim said it started when he was getting into his blue 1998 Lexus on the 1700 block of Walter.
He told police two men with guns carjacked him.
Minutes later, officers spotted the vehicle on Summer Avenue.
As police pursued the stolen car, they say the suspects ran a red light and collided with a burgundy Lexus near Pope and Summer.
"Within just a few seconds the cops were out of their car with their guns drawn. The hopped into the vehicle. There were two or three guys in the vehicle. They pulled them out and threw them on the ground with their guns drawn and got them under arrest," said Higham.
Paramedics took one of the suspects to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
Later police took him to jail along with the other suspect.
