Mid-South gas prices likely to rise after Sandy

(WMC-TV) - The aftermath of hurricane Sandy will also do damage at the pump. Mid-South gas prices are likely to spike in the days following the super storm.

Many of the east coast's oil refineries did shut down before Sandy hit, but any damage could force them to stay off-line for longer.

It could push the national average to up to $4 a gallon.
