(WMC-TV) – Damien Echols is on a mission to clear his name.
In his first sit down interview with Action News 5's Janice Broach, Damien reveals plans for a surprising new future, in his new home, in Salem, Massachusetts – the site of the infamous Salem witch trials.
That is a comparison he used before, after jurors convicted him of murdering three little boys in West Memphis.
Now as a free man, Damien has a new goal in mind.
"But you don't see that all on TV. You don't see that in the documentaries. It's taken out of context. And it makes you look like, basically, like you're crazy," Damien Echols told Janice Broach.
This is an interview 18 years in the making. Action News 5's Janice Broach covered this case from the very beginning. Now, hear as Damien Echols talks with her about a new book, his newfound freedom, and new evidence in the case… It is all Tuesday on Action News 5 at 10 p.m.
