(WMC-TV) - Sandy seemed to have it out for the family of one Mid-South woman. The storm track passed through five states where her loved ones live.
The monster storm had Aisling Maki on pins and needles.
"I have family and friends in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania," said Maki.
She knew Sandy meant business when the Atlantic City strip became one with the ocean.
"The reporter was standing in water almost up to his waist in the middle of Atlantic City," she described.
Like many others across the country, Maki was glued to the images on her television screen.
She used Facebook to find her family. She appreciates the power of social media, now that it came through when she needed it the most.
"In some sense, people all over the world are affected by it because almost everybody knows somebody in the New York area," said Maki.
Maki is still waiting to hear from one aunt, but she feels confident all will end well.
