Search continues for home improvement fraud

(WMC-TV) - The search is on for one crafty roofer and Shelby County authorities need your help in finding one of their most wanted.

Joshua Beasley is wanted for aggravated assault, forgery, home improvement fraud and theft of property.

The Better Business Bureau said Beasley first came to their attention in mid-2011 when he was named in complaints against Tri-State Roofing in Hernando.

The BBB said it got complaints from people who turned over insurance checks to pay for a new roof but the company never did the job.

Beasley claimed that he was just an employee of Tri-State Roofing and was not involved in any fraudulent conduct.

We're told Beasley later started his own company, Mid-America Roofing.

After receiving a complaint from a consumer in Feb. 2012, who claimed Beasley forged her signature on an insurance check,  the BBB determined that Beasley did not have the necessary home improvement license and gave the company an F rating.

"I'm shocked to see somebody that would do that right here in my neighborhood.  It hurts everybody.  The homeowners, the legitimate roofing contractors, and gives everybody a bad name," said neighbor Perry Love.

Action News 5 went to Beasley's most recent address, knocked on the door but got no answer.

If you can help authorities find Beasley call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH
