CAUGHT ON CAM: Wal-Mart employee robbed at gunpoint

(WMC-TV) - Mississippi investigators are looking for men caught on camera robbing a Wal-Mart employee at gunpoint inside the store.

Wal-Mart is open 24 hours and the two crooks waited until midnight to make their move.

Video captured some frightening moments for the people inside, and the robbers are still on the loose.

At first glance of the video, it looks like a normal trip to Wal-Mart. The two men walk in, grab a shopping cart, filled it with deer corn and a dog food. But what happens next is anything but normal.

The crooks start taking iPods when they were spotted by an employee who ends up with a gun pointed at her head. And she was not the only one. The two threaten another person who heard the commotion on a nearby isle.

"It's kind of scary because you think of WalMart as a family place where you come and shop and are from here," said Brooke West, Wal-Mart shopper.

Since it was around midnight, the store was full of overnight workers who found themselves in the middle of a frightening situation.

In a rush, the suspects stuffed their carts on a five finger discount shopping spree and bolted through the store.

Surveillance video outside captured the two taking what they can and ditching the cart as they made their getaway.

"When you have less opportunity people are going to look to other means to try and get by," said shopper Justin Jones.

Batesville Police believe a third person dropped the thieves off in a car, which was also caught on camera.

A cash reward is up for grabs for anyone with information that could lead to the suspects' arrests.

If you know anything, you are asked to call North Central Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-2169 or Batesville police.
