(WMC-TV) - A Memphis man has been arrested and charged in the death of his 2-year-old stepson.
Michael Foster, 24, is accused of killing little Sean Lambert back in April. However, he was just arrested Tuesday.
He is charges include first degree murder, neglect, and more.
Sean Lambert is also known as Tre'. On April 17, Foster called 911 from his apartment in Raleigh. He said he found his stepson unresponsive in bed.
The 2-year-old boy was taken to LeBonheur Children's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The toddler's death was ruled a homicide, and he had injuries that pointed to blunt force trauma – specifically to his torso and internal organs.
Police say Foster later admitted to them that he caused the child's injuries when they were wrestling. He says they were playing, and things got rough.
According to the police affidavit, the step-father says he fell on the child's chest. Police say he also admitted to swinging the child around in a circle while they were playing.
He says the two were alone when the little boy went into distress.
Foster is being held without bail. He was arraigned Tuesday morning. He is due back in court in one week.
