(WMC-TV) - The man accused of killing his wife and dumping her body in the Loosahatchie River is expected to appear in court Monday.
Terrence Thomas is charged with first degree murder and filing a false report. He has pleaded 'not guilty' to the charges.
"I'm doing all I can do to find my wife. I just want her to come home. My kids are missing her," Thomas told Action News 5 before his wife's body was found.
The 31-year-old mother of two was reported missing on October 12.
According to the affidavit, Terrence Thomas was brought into the sheriff's office after Karen's body was identified. According to police, he then admitted to strangling his wife in the bedroom at their home, and then throwing her body off of the bridge on Watkins Street into the Loosahatchie River.
Detectives did say that Karen Thomas' body was left in the river the same day she was killed. They also said the children were in the home when she was killed but they do not know yet whether the kids saw or heard anything.
Family members tell Action News 5 Karen Thomas and her husband were going through a divorce.
