(WMC-TV) – A man accused of multiple rapes in Shelby County is now behind bars, and will face a judge today. The alleged serial rapist is 34-year-old Michael Richardson.
He is in jail on a $2 million bond, facing three rape charges and a robbery charge.
Investigators say Richardson's DNA ties him to the crimes which date back several months.
Richardson was arrested yesterday by the fugitive law enforcement teams at his home in Rossville, Tenn. in Fayette County. His alleged victims are from the East Memphis and eastern Shelby County areas.
Richardson is accused of sexually assaulting them in a vehicle and then forcing them out.
He has been a person of interest in the cases after a similar complaint filed against him in 2007.
And right now, investigators are working to find out if more victims are out there. Anyone with more details surrounding this case is urged to call detectives at the Shelby County Sheriff's Office at (901) 222-5600.
