Tigers Fall To VCU

The Memphis Tigers know it's all about seeding.

Coach Josh Pastner even saying he constructed this year's schedule with seeding and RPI in mind.

A couple wins or losses here and there could mean the difference in a long tournament run, or an early exit in March.

So Memphis hoping to start out the Battle for Atlantis on a good note, facing VCU at the Atlantis resort.

But it started off badly for Memphis...The Rams hitting thirteen 3's in the game, and opening up with an 8 point advantage.

Adonis Thomas led the Tigers with 19 points, but turnovers a big problem for the Tigers as well...22 of them...7 belonging to Joe Jackson...6 on Thomas.

The Tigers went into the break down 14, and as many as 16 at one point.

Second half, the Tigers do make a run in the second half, getting within' 2.

But the Rams just out running the Tigers, using a 21-0 run late.

The Tigers fall, 78-65.

They will face Minnesota in the consolation bracket Friday at noon.
