$40,000 worth of merchandise stolen from car stereo business
(WMC-TV) - Right now police are searching for whoever is responsible for breaking into Stereo Sound on Getwell Road.

"Really shocked, I'm really shocked," said owner Yousef Salim.

That's how Yousef Salim describes the burglary.

Wednesday night, thieves broke in stealing more than $40,000 of merchandise.

"Car audio, dvd's, cd's equipment for car stereo," said Salim.

According Salim, the suspects cut power to the business.

While a back-up battery did trigger the store's alarm system, Salim said he's wasn't notified in time by authorities.

"They cut a whole in the back door, came into the garage and we have an entry door to the showroom.  They came from the garage into the showroom," said Salim.

This makes the fourth time that Stereo Sounds' Getwell location has been targeted by thieves.

Salim said his store on Elvis Presley was also broken into this past Sunday.

The crooks got away with $1,300 of merchandise.

To make matters worse, Salim said he doesn't have insurance.

"I can't get insurance here. I can't afford it," he said.

Salim is offering a $2,000 dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the break-ins.
