Grizzlies Fall Short Against Spurs

[Just a month into the season, nothing is really at stake when the Grizzlies and Spurs hit the court, but it is a battle of 2 of the top teams in the NBA.

Memphis at 12-and-2 and a half game lead in the Southwest Division over 13-and-4 San Antonio.

Despite double-doubles by Zach Randolph, Rudy Gay and Mike Conley, who had 12 assists to go along with 18 points, the Grizzlies couldn't overcome a 'well rested' Spurs team, falling in OT, 99-95.

Marc Gasol added 20 points for Memphis.

Tony Parker led San Antonio in scoring with 30 points, while Tim Duncan added 27 points and 15 rebounds.

The win gives San Antonio a half game lead over Memphis in the Western Conference's Southwest Division.

The Grizzlies next game is at home, Tuesday against Phoenix.
