'Kiss My Grits' singer has high hopes for AGT auditions

Auditioner shares excitement about America's Got Talent coming to Memphis

(WMC-TV) - Sybil Presley brings a lot of energy to her role as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer, but this is just one of many public appearances.

The 66-year-old actress and comedian will make her second attempt at super stardom next week when America's Got Talent brings their auditions to Memphis.

Presley is the founder of The Tennessee Stress Busters.

"We do restaurant humor, she dresses like a chef and I'm a waitress," said Presley.

Presley and her partner in comedy Emily Kirk hope to wow the judges with an original rap song called "Kiss My Grits."

"We'll play the soundtrack and she's going hit the pot with a spoon to keep the beat," said Presley.

Presley auditioned as a solo act for America's Got Talent in Chicago two seasons ago.

This year she received a special invitation.

"So we got chosen to have an appointment so we don't have to stand in the long line," said Presley.

While most people her age are considering retirement, Presley exudes enthusiasm for her craft.

"We have something unique that no one else is doing," said Presley.

She takes her desire to get a laugh very seriously.

You have a chance to Audition for the Talent Show next week.

Auditions will be held at the Cook Convention Center on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

They will be holding auditions all day and looking for the best talent Memphis has to offer.

You will get 90 seconds to show the judges what you've got.
