Cybill Shepherd's belongings up for sale this weekend

(WMC-TV) - This weekend you have the chance to get your hands on a piece of a Memphis movie star's history.

An estate sale is going on right now at the home of Memphis actress Cybill Shepherd's mother.

Shepherd's mother died this year.

From her Steinway grand piano to her guitar, Waterford chandeliers, and other prized possessions, items from actress Cybill Shepherd's childhood can be yours to keep.

"She has lots of pretty stuff. My husband is shopping now. He may buy the whole house before it's over," says Atlanta, GA resident Nancy Norris.

The English Tudor home at 615 East Drive -- and all of it's belongings -- are part of an estate sale for Cybill Shepherd's mother, Patty.

The home originally belonged to Shepherd's grandmother Gladys Shobe.

"I slid down the banister once and broke a planter that I now find out is worth $6,000," said Cybill Shepherd's brother, William.

"Everything goes and the house is for sale in the Hein Park area," added Helen Todd with Aqua Treasures Estate Sale.

Todd says she has worked for three months to get the home and everything inside ready for sale.

People began lining up outside at 6 a.m. Friday to get their piece of history, including the 1979 Cadillac that Cybill Shepherd drove.

"Do some Christmas shopping. Buy something for your home. Do you need a new bed?  New furnishings?" said Todd.

One of the most valuable items for sale is a Napoleonic clock on the mantle in the living room; and, don't forget the collection of 200 mustache cups that feature a built in guard to keep mustaches dry.

It will be open Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m.

Items not sold at the sale will be auctioned next Saturday, December 15, at Todd's Auction House on Summer Avenue.
