(WMC-TV) - A new shopping experience in Midtown's Overton Square as the historic square is in the midst of a retail revitalization.
Action News Five's Jerica Phillips visited the new MemShop, a short term stop for Memphis-made gifts and goods.
The booths are called pop up shops, sort of a shopping oasis for you last minute gift givers.
It benefits local entrepreneurs while transforming vacant store fronts in Overton Square.
The market features more than 40 local vendors along with live entertainment and a community café.
As part of Mayor A C Wharton's Innovation Delivery Team, MemShop is the first in a series of events aimed at incubating new businesses and helping existing ones grow.
The market has an abundance of potential stocking stuffers for everyone on your Christmas list.
"Oh it's nice. I love seeing something going on down here in Overton Square. You know they've been talking about revitalizing this area for a long while and this obviously is the start of it, and it's just exciting to see things happening in Midtown," said shopper David Tuttle.
MemShop runs now through December 23 here in Overton Square. You can learn more about shop hours here.
