Six ski-masked robbers restrain husband and wife with duct tape

(WMC-TV) - Six robbers are still on the loose after tying up a husband and wife and robbing them in a South Memphis home, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

Shelby County deputies responded to a robbery call around 10 p.m. on the 4700 of Buttermilk Drive and found a male victim stumbling in the street in front of his residence with a head injury, according to the report.

The victim told deputies that he and his wife had been tied up with duct tape around their feet, wrists and mouths by six men wearing ski masks and gloves for about three hours.

The male victim also said that he and his wife returned home around 7:00 p.m. and found their master bedroom disturbed.
That's when six men rushed into the room pointing weapons and demanding money .

When the husband did not comply, he was struck in the head with a handgun.

The victim's wife stated she was grabbed by two of the suspects, criminally assaulted and taken into the living room area.

The female victim stated that once the suspects left the residence, she cut herself free, ran to a neighbor's house and called 911.
Neighbors in this southeast Shelby County subdivision are shocked by a crime right out of a horror film.

"That's awful. I haven't ever seen anything like that in this area," said neighbor Delaney Worthy.
Suspects took several items from the home and left in the victims' 2006 Chevy Express Van.
"This right here, what happened, I don't understand it. It's kind of strange to me," said neighbors Todd Watts.

The investigation shows the suspects kicked in the back door to gain entry.

The husband was treated for a gash in his head.
"My heart goes out to them," said Worthy.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Shelby County Sheriff's Detective Unit at 901-222-5600.
