Security guard beaten and left for dead has message for attacker

MEMPHIS, TN - (WMC-TV) – Only on 5, a security guard beaten and left for dead in a downtown Memphis parking garage has a message for her attacker.

It was a week ago today that security guard Melissa Mcfall was attacked inside the parking garage at 100 North Main downtown.  She said she was fearless before the attack.

"The person I was is so different than what I am now," she said. "I don't want to be this person. I'm trying to get help. I don't want to stay this way."

Mcfall says she constantly relives the attack which happened a week ago in the parking garage at the 100 North Main building.

"It makes me sick to my stomach. My head hurts. I get headaches a lot. I can't sleep. Every time I go to sleep I have nightmares," Mcfall said.

Mcfall worked as a security guard inside the building where most of the offices are occupied by attorneys.  She went to her car parked in the garage around 9 o'clock at night.

"I never expected anybody out there," she said.

When she opened her trunk to get her purse, someone came up from behind and put a knife to her neck and demanded her purse. Then her attacker slammed her face into the back of her car.

"I didn't see anything."

She was knocked out and bleeding for about 30 minutes. She called 911 when she woke up.

Mcfall doesn't know how her attacker got into the building because the doors and garage are locked at 7 o'clock.

She realized how lucky she is to be alive when she saw my story last week and contacted me hoping someone turns her attacker in.

"I'd tell him please don't do this to anybody else because I wouldn't want anybody else going through what I'm going through," she said.

Melissa Mcfall does not know when or if she will be able to return to work.   If you know anything about who attacked her, no matter how small the information, contact police.
