More than $75,000 raised for fallen officer's family

The community's outpouring of support for fallen officer Martoiya Lang and her family helped raise more than $75,000.

Memphis police officer Martoiya Lang was shot and killed in the line of duty while serving a search warrant one week ago Friday.

She leaves behind four daughters, ages 14, 13, 12, and 2-years-old.

While money cannot change what has happened, it did show that these four girls have the support of the Memphis community behind them.

The "In the line of duty" fundraiser raised $75,141 for Officer Lang's family.

Thousands came by the Action News 5 studios Wednesday to drop off their piggy banks, and write checks to help out the family as they deal with this tragic loss.

If you were not able to make it to the "In the line of duty" fundraiser, donations can still be made to the Martoiya Lang Memorial Fund at Regions Bank.

Martoiya Lang's funeral is being held at Hope Church.  If you are unable to attend, we are making it available online at WMCTV.COM.

This fundraiser will be put on with the help of the Memphis Police Department, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, and Clear Channel Outdoor.
