MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A private visitation for fallen officer Martoiya Lang was held at a funeral home earlier Thursday. Another visitation was held in the evening, primarily for police officers, emergency workers, politicians, and citizens to pay their respects to the officer who lost her life in the line of duty.
Squad cars arrived from departments across the Mid-South.
One woman who attended is the wife of a police officer. She said she hates to hear about one of them being killed in the line of duty.
"It's just a scary thing and you know, you're frightened every day. And it's just horrible when you hear something like this," she said. "It's just a tragedy."
The visitation for Officer Lang lasts until 8 p.m. Thursday at Hope Presbyterian Church.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. The public is invited to attend. For those of you cannot attend, but would still like to pay your respects, WMCTV.COM will make the service available to watch online.
