(WMC-TV) - Police in Dyersburg say crooks are getting craftier, and they need your help to solve a recent rash of thefts. Surveillance cameras caught a glimpse of the two men and one woman who are believed to have stolen thousands of dollars worth of laptop computers from Wal-Mart.
Dyersburg Police Captain Steve Isbell says the three crooks walked into the store, then over to the children's department.
Once there, they removed car seats from their boxes, walked over to electronics, and filled those empty car seat boxes with laptops.
Next, they walked right up to the checkout counter, paid for a car seat, and walked out the door.
"We feel like these people aren't from Dyersburg and hope someone will recognize these folks," said Captain Steve Isbell, Dyersburg Police Department. "This is unfortunately becoming more of a norm where people are getting more organized and clever in doing these type things."
Police are hoping that Wal-Mart shoppers who may have seen something suspicious will alert authorities.
