McDonald's robbery suspect shot by officer

(WMC-TV) – One person is dead after the Memphis Police Department confirms an officer shot and killed a robbery suspect at the McDonald's on Frayser Boulevard.

Crime scene tape currently surrounds the restaurant and an ambulance is on the scene.

According to the Memphis Police Department, officers were called to a robbery in progress at 2062 Frayser Boulevard.

When police arrived, they were told that two armed suspects were responsible for the robbery.

One of those suspects was shot by a police officer and was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say the second suspect ran away and into the woods nearby the McDonald's.

The MPD chopper is in the air working to find the second suspect.

MPD also believes there was another suspect who fled the scene in a get-away vehicle when the officers arrived. 

The vehicle, described as a brown Ford Taurus by spectators, was possibly occupied by a female.
