Ford accuses Kelsey of playing 'tricks' during legislative session

(WMC-TV) - After making headlines last week for her comments on guns, Tennessee State Senator Ophelia Ford is at it again.

This time she is accusing Senator Brian Kelsey of playing "tricks' in Thursday's legislative session.

The State Senate was scheduled to vote on a constitutional amendment that would abolish the Tennessee's current method of Judicial-Selection.

Senator Brian Kelsey of Germantown called for a vote on the amendment Thursday.

Ford had questions and wanted to wait until the state attorney general had addressed them.

"I do not have a problem voting on a motion today, but my request to my colleague from Shelby would be that she withdraw that motion, and that she make a motion to roll this bill until next Thursday," said Kelsey.

Senator Ford agreed and the motion was made to withdraw.

But then Senator Kelsey motioned to vote Thursday and asked the Senate to vote no on Senator Ford's motion to delay.

Ford said it was unfair.

Senator Kelsey apologized for any confusion he may have created and the Senate went on to vote to delay a vote on the amendment after all.
