(WMC-TV) - The Salvation Army is putting the finishing touches on its new KROC Center and Action News 5 got a sneak peak of the facility before its scheduled grand opening this weekend.

The center also boasts a multi-functional NBA sized basketball court area where patrons can play volleyball and soccer.

It will also showcase a 132,000 gallon swimming pool with a huge water slide and water basketball goals.

"Oh absolutely, that's why I say it reminds me of like universal studios or disney world or something and I don't think they will ever get bored,"said KROC Center Media Executive Nicky Sparrow.

Guests also got to view a state-of-the-art theater where patrons will be able to do everything from see a production to act in one.

"Our entire idea for the arts department is to create these high caliber experiences in the arts especially for those communities that have been underprivileged and undeserved,"said KROC Center Artistic Director Joshua Quinn.

The new KROC Center will hold its open house on Saturday, February 23 and will be open to the public when the ribbon is cut the following day, February 24.

The KROC Center is located at 800 E. Parkway S. and all activities are handicapped accessible.
