Driver charged in crash that killed child

(WMC-TV) – The woman driving the car that hit and killed a child Thursday is facing several charges in connection with the death.

Investigators say 8-year-old Bryan Guevara was hit around 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon on the 4200 block of Candlelight Drive.

Guevara's family says the boy was playing in the street when he was hit by 38-year-old Magdalena Roman as she was backing out of a neighbor's driveway.

According to police, Roman did not have a driver's license or proof of insurance.

She was arrested and charged.
