ETX woman arrested and charged with 3 counts of abandoning or endangering a child

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

An East Texas woman was arrested and charged with three counts of abandoning or endangering a child Friday.

Longview Police arrested 27-year-old Jimmeshia Latasha Nelson Friday morning at a residence on Ray street, charging her with three counts of abandoning or endangering a child causing imminent danger or bodily injury.

Nelson was also charged with failure to identify a fugitive, evading arrest and with six outstanding warrants.

She remains in the Gregg County jail on nearly $25-thousand dollars bond.

    A city watch was issued Tuesday night for a woman missing for 11 days. Memphis Police Department said Jacqueline Smith, 24, was last seen June 16 with a family member in the 200 block of N. Bellevue. Police said she suffers from two mental disorders and is not on medication. They also warn that she could become violent.
