Former pastor indicted on 18 counts of sexual abuse

(WMC-TV) - An indictment against a former pastor lists in great detail the sexual crimes he is accused of committing.

Larry Singleton remains behind bars in Tate County charged with 18 felony counts, including sexual battery, fondling, and child pornography.

Singleton has been sitting in jail since his arrest in December of last year.

An 18-year-old man told investigators Singleton forced him to engage in sexual acts.

The indictment alleges that the abuse happened between 2005 and 2012.

Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance says the charges stem from one victim, though he is not able to discuss the relationship between the two.

At the time of Singleton's arrest, he was listed as a pastor in Abbeville, Mississippi. The sheriff says the reported crimes did not have anything to do with the church.

There is no word yet on a trial date for Singleton.  He remains in jail on a $1 million bond.
