Two county employees reprimanded over pension incident

Shelby County has issued letters of reprimand to two employees involved in the Tom Jones pension incident. The letters were sent to human resources administrator Janet Shipman and retirement office manager Waverly Seward. The letter says both exercised poor judgement in executing their duties. Jones was placed back on the county's payroll in order to increase his pension pay out. Earlier this month, mayoral spokeswoman Susan Thorp and executive assistant Bobby Lanier stepped down because of the incident. No additional disciplinary action will be taken.
