Kris Thomas ready for 'Live Playoffs'

(WMC-TV) - Memphis' own Kris Thomas is ready for his big night on "The Voice" stage in Los Angeles where he will be performing live on national television.

He was up at 4 a.m. Tuesday ready to go.

"My body just kicked in. I tried to go back to sleep. My head started going, spinning, and I was just there laying at the ceiling," said Thomas.

Thomas started singing as a kid in church. His Dad is a pastor in Memphis. However, nothing Thomas has done has yet prepared him for singing in front of the whole country live.

"With this, if you say, fall on your face – it's on tv, they can't edit that," said Thomas.

His biggest cheerleader on the west coast is his coach, Shakira.

"She has helped me a great deal because I've been singing for a long time, but not in this type of element," said Thomas.

With four singers remaining on each team, the viewers will pick two contestants per team to move on. Then each coach will choose one of their remaining two singers to stay in LA.

Kris tells me he is eager to get home, but not before his work is done in California.

"But I do want to come back home, and feel the love there," said Thomas.
