Overnight shootings leave one dead, two injured

(WMC-TV) - One person died and two others were injured in separate shootings in the Memphis area last night.

At approximately 10:25, Memphis police were called to the scene at the 1600 block of McLemore in South Memphis, where they found a 23-year-old male with a gunshot wound.

Police determined that the victim was shot during a robbery attempt.

He was brought to The Med where he was pronounced dead.

The suspects were possibly in a dark colored SUV, according to police. No one is in custody.

Around midnight, a 19-year-old man was found shot outside his apartment at the 3400 block of Wild Rye Lane in Hickory Hill. 

His injuries are life-threatening. No one is in custody.

At around 2 a.m. a man was shot at the 2300 block of Golden Avenue.

The victim's uncle told us his nephew was walking to a nearby store. He was able to run back to the home, where relatives called for police and an ambulance.
