MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Grizzlies fans enjoyed a stress-free Thursday after Memphis took the playoff series against the OKC Thunder Wednesday night.

From the FedExForum to 201 Poplar, downtown buzzed with excitement about the team.

Outside the Grizzlies team store were fans all the way from Seattle, Washington.

"Yeah, we just wanted them to beat OKC, and they made it happen," said tourist Tim McCarthy.

A defense attorney also stopped by the shop for fresh Grizz gear.

"Wanted to get some new Grizzlies gear for people in my office, my wife, my 18-month-old son, and for myself," said attorney Charles Mitchell.

For the next round of the NBA playoffs, the Grizzlies could play the Spurs if they win Thursday. In that case, the Western Conference Finals starts Sunday.

Should the Warriors win the next two games it starts Tuesday in Memphis. Regardless, tickets for the next two home games go on sale Saturday at noon.

"I do not like live sporting events. I get too emotional, too wrapped up in then. So I just kind of sit home and throw stuff at the TV," said Mitchell.
