LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR -

(WMC-TV) - An Arkansas fisherman found a woman's body floating in the Black River in Lawrence County over the weekend.

Herschel Meeks says he and his family were about to head home when they spotted something that looked out of the ordinary. They were fishing near a state park.

"Clouds moved in. We started back down the river and I noticed something on the back that didn't look right," said Meeks. "I waited 'til they were on down stream until I turned around and went back to check it out. Sure enough, it was what I thought it was, so I called the law."

Authorities have not identified the body. It has been sent to the state crime lab.

Our sister station in Jonesboro, Arkansas reports that authorities notified the family of missing 14-year-old Sidney Randall as a courtesy. Randall disappeared 10 weeks ago, but as of Monday morning, they have not said whether the body found is that of the missing teen.
