Grizz must win 4 in a row against Spurs

(WMC-TV) - What was already a big task at hand for the Memphis Grizzlies, is now a daunting one. Down 0-3 in the Western Conference Finals, the Grizzlies must win four straight against the San Antonio Spurs.

As FedExForum employees get the arena ready for Sunday's Paul McCartney concert, the Grizzlies know they have at least one more game at the Grindhouse to try and salvage something out of the NBA Western Conference Final Series, but they know it will not be easy.

The Spurs spotted Memphis a 29-13 lead in the first quarter, only to come back bit by bit, piece by piece, quarter by quarter. They finally caught Memphis in the 4th quarter and went into overtime.

Memphis shot 56 percent from the free throw line and had a chance to win the game going away ten of 18. That doomed the Grizz to defeat in game three.

"I've seen all kinds of stuff. I've seen players, teams that shoot over 50 percent for the season, shoot less than 50 percent in the playoffs," said Grizzlies Head Coach Lionel Hollins. " I've seen players shoot 80 percent, don't shoot 80 percent. I mean, it's playoff basketball. It's different than the regular season."

"Yeah, it's frustrating, but it gives us home at the same time, knowing that we can fight our way back and we have had chances to win each of these games and this was a tough one to swallow," said Grizzlies Guard Mike Conley.

"Every opportunity you have to close a series, you've got to take it," said Manu Ginobili, Spurs guard. "You've got to play your best game and I do believe we can play much better than today."

It is no doubt the Grizzlies backs are now squarely against the wall trailing in the Western Conference Finals series to the Spurs 3-games to none. No team in NBA history has come back from three down to win a seven game series.

The Grizzlies have their work cut out for them, Game four is Monday night at the Grindhouse, Tip-off is 8 p.m.
