GOODLETTSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Goodlettsville man has died after crashing his vehicle into a home Monday afternoon on Hardaway Drive.

Kenneth Ledbetter, 49, may have suffered a medical incident just before crossing three different yards and crashing into the house, according to Goodlettsville police.

Emergency crews cut the top off Ledbetter's Honda SUV to reach him, but his injuries were too severe.

The home sustained significant damage, but the home owner said the situation could have been far worse if his family had been inside.

"When she's at home, that's where she sits and reads her book, and it's just a little room she enjoys for herself. She just happened to leave and pick my son up, and here we are," said homeowner Ray Hampton.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
