Cars damaged at Hendersonville's Drakes Creek Park

HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Someone bashed windows and broke into parked cars at a popular park in Hendersonville Tuesday night.

The incidents occurred at the Drakes Creek Park on East Main Street around 6:37 p.m.

Some of the victims were playing softball at the park when they heard the break-ins.

"I was standing right over there in the outfield, and I heard him bust the glass in my car. I turned around and saw him taking my purse out of my car," said Sara Adcock, who had her Chevrolet Trailblazer damaged.  "There was three other girls on my team that got their cars busted into."

Police said they were able to get a picture of the car that may be connected to the crime.

The attached photo was taken by a police officer who said he saw the car, a gray Honda Accord, speeding away.

Police said the car was last seen exiting Interstate 65 at Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison, headed toward Dickerson Road.

Officers followed the vehicle and attempted to stop the driver but never caught up to it. Sgt John Coarsey says due to safety issues they called off the chase. The vehicle was later found on Wednesday.

Call Hendersonville police at 615-573-5400 if you can help in the case.
