Driver thrown 40 feet in Vietnam Vets Blvd. crash

GALLATIN, TN (WSMV) -

A woman was thrown from her car after a crash Tuesday night on Vietnam Veterans Boulevard.

Authorities said the driver hit wire restraints in the median, overcorrected and veered off the road into a ravine.

She was thrown about 40 feet from the vehicle and flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in critical condition.

Witnesses told police that the woman was speeding.

Officers are trying to figure out if alcohol was involved.
