With a long standing tradition of baseball in Starkville, it's hard to believe Mississippi State is making it's first appearance in the College World series final in 33 trips to the NCAA post-season.

The Dawgs riding a 6-game winning streak in the NCAA tournament...facing UCLA in game 1 of the three game series Monday.

Bruins not wasting any time getting a jump on the Dawgs, scoring in the first inning by a Pat Valaika single into centerfield.

The Dawgs not getting anything done against Bruins starter Adam Plutko until the bottom of the fourth.
