EVENT GUIDE: Fourth of July celebrations

(WMC-TV) - The Fourth of July is a day meant for Americans to come together and celebrate our independence.  There are several free events happening around the Mid-South this week to do just that!  Below you will find a list of free, family friendly events, all of which include firework displays!

Please note, not all of the events are held on the actual holiday.

Memphis

Fourth of July Celebration & Fireworks Display
Thursday, July 4 at 6 p.m.
Mud Island River Park
Activities, concessions available, fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
Admission is free

Germantown

Thursday, July 4 at 5 p.m.
Municipal Park (Exeter Road)
Live music, games, crafts, refreshments, fireworks at sunset
Admission is free

Bartlett

Star Spangled Fireworks Extravaganza
Wednesday, July 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center (Highway 70 & Appling Road)
Live music, car show, games, face painting, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Admission is free

Collierville

28th Annual Collierville Independence Day Celebration
Wednesday, July 3 at 6 p.m.
H. W. Cox Jr. Park (440 West Powell Road
Live music, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Millington

Flag City Freedom Celebration
Wednesday, July 3 at 5 p.m.
Navy Lake
Navy Band performances, food, fireworks

Fourth of July Celebration
Thursday, July 4 at 7:30 p.m.
Snowden Grove Amphitheater (6285 Snowden Lane)
Live music, fireworks at 9 p.m.

Olive Branch

Celebrate Your Independence Fireworks at Festival
Thursday, July 4 at 6 p.m.
Olive Branch City Park (8267 Goodman Road)
Live music, food vendors, kid zone, fireworks at 9 p.m.

Horn Lake

Fourth of July Celebration
Thursday, July 4 at 6 p.m.
Latimer Lakes Park (5633 Tulane Road)
Food, entertainment, children's activities, fireworks at 9 p.m.

Oxford

Fourth of July Festivities
Thursday, July 4 from 7 a.m. to sunset
Downtown Square, The Grove, and Oxford University Stadium
A 5K kicks off at 7 a.m., followed by a children's parade, petting zoo, train rides, Independence Day ceremony, live music, and fireworks at dusk.
Admission is free

Tipton County

Celebrate Independence
Tuesday, July 2
Munford City Park (College Street)
Navy band concert at 7:30 p.m., fireworks at dusk

Rock the Block 2013
Friday, July 5 at 6 p.m.
Walker Park in Atoka
