Search is on for inmate who walked away from job at nature center

(WMC-TV) - A Shelby County Corrections Center inmate serving time for theft and vandalism reportedly walked away from work detail Tuesday afternoon.

Daniel Webster, 26, was reported missing just after 12:30 p.m.

Webster was part of a three person crew doing landscape work at the Lichterman Nature Center on Quince Road in East Memphis. Inmates who meet certain qualifications are allowed to work a variety of jobs throughout the county.

Webster is described as an African-American man, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He has braided hair and a tattoo on his neck that reads "Jessica". He was last seen wearing a light blue shirt with the letters "SCDC" in yellow across the back. The sides of his blue jeans also contain yellow lettering.
