Wife of murdered taxi cab driver calls for justice

(WMC-TV) - Almost a year after his murder, Gerald Cole, Senior's wife is now calling for justice after her husband's body was found dead.

His wife is so terrified that she prefers to stay anonymous. Her reasoning is she's "in constant fear" and "my baby son, some nights, can't sleep because he hears his father's voice calling out to him to, "Come, help me.'"

Last October, Gerald Cole, Senior begin his new job as a taxi cab driver, went to drive his new route, and by nightfall, his body was found riddled with bullets.

Cole's wife said "My husband's keys, to my knowledge, have never found, my husband's wallet."

Khiry Hill has been charged with 1st degree murder in the death of Gerald Cole, Senior. On the police affidavit, it says Hill "provided a typed statement of confession regarding the incident." Yet, before Hill went to trial, a judge dismissed the case and ruled Hill only admitted to being present during the crime, and that was not a true confession.
Cole's wife complained to the Board of Judicial Conduct, and the D.A. The D.A.'s office cannot release the typed confession because the case is still open. The case status also prevents them from confirming the family's claim that Hill used Cole's cell phone after the murder. The D.A.'s office says pending criminal charges may be in the works, but they cannot say who they're directed towards. They say this case is far from over.
