Newest Shelby county school hosts 'Meet the Staff' night

(WMC-TV) - Shelby county welcomed the newest district school Saturday.

Belle Forest Community School hosted its first "Meet the Staff" night where future students, parents, and community members got to meet new teachers, administrators, and learn about new programs.

"We'll open our doors officially August 5 which is my birthday so this is a present for me as well as for the community. We're very excited about this" stated Principal Lori Phillips. 

Nearly 800 students are enrolled from Pre-K to 5th grade.
