Panola County investigates deadly Fourth of July

(WMC-TV) - Authorities in Panola County, Mississippi are investigating a Fourth of July shooting that killed one man.

According to The Panolian and Batesville police, Douglas Ellis was shot and killed in the Patton Lane area.

The suspect, Desmond Robinson, is in custody in connection with the deadly shooting.

In another case, the Panola County Sheriff's Office says a domestic murder-suicide also happened on Independence Day, but they are not releasing additional details about that case.
