Mississippi day cares will requiring parents' fingerprints

(WMC-TV) - Mississippi lawmakers will soon require parents' fingerprints when checking their children into daycare.

Starting October 1, the Mississippi Department of Human Services will require fingerprint scans by parents checking their children into and out of federally-subsidized day care. That means if federal grant money provides for your child, you will need to visit your county DHS office and have your finger scanned.

The controversial program is being labeled as 'intrusive' by parents and has even sparked a lawsuit.
