4 injured in rural Rutherford County crash

ROCKVALE, TN (WSMV) -

Four people were injured, including a 5-year-old child, in a two-car wreck in rural Rutherford County.

Authorities said the child was ejected from the car during the wreck, which occurred around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Walter Leathers Drive and Windrow Road. Officials said the 5-year-old was awake, alert and oriented when she was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center via helicopter.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the car in which the 5-year-old was riding, driven by Ana Maradiaga, 20, of Murfreesboro, was turning left from Walter Leathers Road onto Windrow Road into the path of a GMC truck driven by Connie Reeves, 50, of Rockvale.

Reeves was transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford with injuries. Maradiaga and an unidentified passenger in her car were also transported to Vanderbilt.
