Dozens remember Memphis basketball star at candlelight vigil

(WMC-TV) - Dozens gathered outside the FedEx Forum holding a vigil for a former Memphis basketball star Saturday.

Nearly three years ago, the body of Memphis basketball star Lorenzen Wright was found. However, the killer has not yet been caught.

"It's getting easier; but, ...he's still not here. I'm gonna do this every year" stated Wright's mother Deborah Marion.

You may remember Wright was found shot to death in July 2010 in a field in southeast Memphis. The 34-year-old Wright had been missing for 10 days before his body was found.

Marion told Action News 5 people traveled from all over the country for tonight's prayer service, candle vigil, and memorial bike ride.
