Mid-South father thanks two 'angels' for son's life

(WMC-TV) - One Mid-South father credits two unknown good Samaritans for his son's life.

You may remember, in June, 24-year-old Corey Levy was shot in the stomach after a robbery gone bad. While police have identified the gunman as "16-year-old Demarcus Jr. Jones". Levy still remains in the MED.

"The whole thing is a nightmare," stated father Alvin Levy.

According to police, the interviews with the three suspects revealed more about their intent.

Levy stated, "(in the interview one of the suspects) said that he would have shot him more but he only had two bullets and he wanted to save one bullet and I thank God for that. That he only got shot once."

Son Corey Levy is continuing to recover and his father thanks the two strangers who ran to help him for having his son.

"God sent two angels to save his life and one was putting pressure on the wound and one dragged him into his house so he wouldn't be shot again" continued Levy.

Corey has been through 10 surgeries ... including a tracheotomy. Yet, Corey remains positive and hopes for a full recovery.

As for teen accused of shooting Levy...he's in jail and is being charged with first degree attempted murder and aggravated robbery.
