61 pounds of marijuana seized in DeSoto County

(WMC-TV) - The DeSoto County Sheriff's Department confirms it made a major marijuana bust, but it will not reveal when the drugs were found, when, or who is responsible.

The sheriff's department seized 61 pounds of marijuana. Who is wanted in connection with the bust is being withheld "in the best interest of this case". The suspect is wanted for possession with the intent to sell.

Saturday, after receiving e-mails from concerned neighbors, Action News 5 checked on a house in the Center Hill area of DeSoto County. There was a lot of law enforcement activity, but so far, investigators will not confirm whether that scene is related to the drug bust.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's department expects to release more information about the discovery this week.
